Presence and Immersion in Virtual Reality

Clinical Playground’s Dr. Eric B. Bauman recently gave a talk with Melissa Morris, a PhD student he is mentoring from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions on the role of presence and immersion in virtual reality as compared standard web-based video conferencing. The talk was part of the 2021 International Healthcare Simulation Week (September 13-19) and was facilitated by Dr. David Li and sponsored by Guangzhou First Peoples Hospital and SIMFEED. The included well over 100 healthcare educators from across China. Ms. Morris is also the Director of Simulation and Interactive technology at Nova Southeastern University – Pavalli Patel College of Healthcare Sciences.
