was recently featured as an Acadicus roundtable guest facilitator, hosted by Jon Brouchoud and John “Pathfinder” Lester. Acadicus, a virtual reality teaching and learning platform provides an expansive library of virtual simulation content for training and education. The Roundtable included participants logging on from all over the world including Turkey and Qatar, as well as many people throughout the U.S. including, University of Miami, UNC and the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Bauman’s discussion focused on how much of his work over the last decade focusing on digital simulation solutions has matured from theoretical possibilities to actual practice. The discussion also acknowledged how the COVID-19 pandemic has forced educators’ hands in terms of trying out digital multimedia simulation solutions, such as virtual reality, where there had been hesitancy and reluctance just a year ago.
