Dr. Eric B. Bauman founder and managing member of Clinical Playground, LLC recently provided consultation to the Kingsley Elementary School in Naperville, IL (District 203). The consultation was arranged by teacher Kathy Schoengrund and principal Erin Markers. Kingsley Elementary is already leveraging educational technology though the use of iPads in their classrooms. Discussion centered around best practices related to game-based learning and evaluation of game-based learning. In other words, is there evidence to support this type of pedagogy and if so, how might we evaluate what we are doing in our own school? Providing learning opportunities that help prepare students of any age for future academic success is always a worthwhile and a exciting opportunity.
