HPSN was a whirlwind. I finally arrived in Tampa Tuesday afternoon in time to catch the later half of the Tuesday conference offerings, spend 45 minutes in the sun at the pool, and have Dinner with my good friends from the Netherlands, Joris Broeren and Michiel Schutter and their colleagues. MODSIM World Canada 2011 Conference and Expo will take place in Ottawa from June 20-22. The event organizers describe it as an “international summit for disseminating recent advances in the field of system modeling and simulation.” Health, medical and biotech are the topics of one of its four tracks this year. So getting out of the Madison, Wisconsin would have involved buses and standby tickets from Madison to Tampa. I’m scheduled for a 5:15AM flight again on Tuesday. The presentation titled Simulation-Based Resuscitation: Team Leadership is still scheduled to take place on Wed February 22 at the METI HPSN Conference. It is snowing again so we will see… If all goes well I should be wheels down in Tampa around Noon tomorrow.

Games for Change is an organization describing itself as the “leading global advocate for supporting and making games for social impact.” They will be hosting their 8th annual Games for Change Festival in New York City on June 20-22, 2011. Along with the festival announcement they’ve posted a call for content asking for, among other things, games for education. In particular, 5-7 games in progress will be highlighted and demoed for a panel of designers and funders. The
The University of Wisconsin–Madison is excited to announce the Games+Learning+Society (GLS) Conference 7.0 to be held June 15–17, 2011 at the Memorial Union located in the lakefront on the Madison campus. The GLS Conference is the premier event in the field of videogames and learning. Now in its seventh year, this grass roots “indie” event is evolving to include innovative content formats and new programming. Conference submissions are due March 7, 2011 and can be submitted
